Career Development & Culture is the "New Black" for Employees Benefits

Millennials and Gen Y Employees rate Career Development and Workplace Culture higher on importance to them than pay. McCrindle Research announced on 10th Aug 2017 at the For Profit Forum in Sydney that this demographic will have 17 jobs and 5 careers in their lifetime.  That is such a different career path than ever before.  For Baby Boomers, it’s hard to get your head around. So much change, so much diversity and so many skills over some 60 years of working life.  The time of dedicating your loyalty and life to 1-3 companies in a lifetime is over.

Some facts: The Millennial generation will have the highest digital ability ever in history, 1 in 2 will have university education and they are also demanding their work environments are more like a community, a FAM, a tribe and a home.  They need emotional support, intuitive management and challenging variety of work. Traditional businesses haven’t been built for this and are struggling while start-ups and tech businesses have embraced this need and are accommodating it at a rapid rate.

Traditional businesses have an opportunity though to remain relevant and essential to these Millennial employees and keep their emerging talent for longer.  What's required for the next few years is the adoption of Career development and culture/community building.  According to McCrindle Research, they are the two major factors encouraging younger employees to stay with the company.

I'm Jen Harwood, and having personally coached over 1500 leaders and professionals in the last 19 years, and spoken and trained many thousands of people, I’ve been seeing this myself. To answer the need, I have created a one day program that assists employees and their managers to understand their own career reality and work on a plan to fulfil it and to work together and build a supportive culture.

One Day  In-House Workshop which covers:

How to have employees take responsibility for their evolving
career while they work.
How to take the burden off your managers to 'turn out' their staff's careers
How to increase productivity and personal responsibility in the workplace
How to engage Millennials, Gen Y, Gen X and Boomers in their Career
How to create a supportive team culture without forcing anyone to be part of it !

Yep - all of that and more in a fun, exciting day !

Create & Own their Vision
Employees sit in the drivers seat of their career (some for the first time) with permission from their employer to dream big and create a career vision that totally inspires them.

They Build a Support Team
Its not just the manager's role to support the employee. In this workshop, the employee learns how to identify and engage with key people who will support them in their career and development.

Appreciate their current role
When employees are grateful for the job they have and see how it fits into their own bigger picture, they stop disengaging behaviours because they have purpose. Also, their manager now knows how to encourage and motivate them.

Building Collaborative Culture
When employees are clear about thier own mission and how to support each other, they work better together. This workshop gives them a common language they can use at work, in their social and personal lives that will have them build community everywhere they go!

Having run these Career & Developmet Workshops and shared The Greatness Principle Programs, here's what people are saying:
